Backtalking

So our 6 1/2 year old daughter is giving us a run for our money. We have become up close and personal friends with the time out chair recently. Tonight Mark asked her to do something and she basically said no. I chime in under my breath, "I would put her in time out." So he tells her that she needs to sit in the time out chair. Sidney then begins to backtalk. Mark gets a little more firm and tells her she has 3 seconds to get in the chair and no more backtalking. So she sets herself down in the chair and looks up at him defiantly and says "Now can I backtalk?"

Aren't they cute. Luckily we love her and are hoping and praying this is just a phase. We have made it through with our other 3 kids, so either we will get this handled OR we are already whipped dogs and will be run over the top of. Here is to hoping it is the first alternative.
