Favorite Things Friday

So I have decided to start a "Favorite Things Friday" blog post. Other people have done these and I thought it might be fun, at least for a few weeks. So, every Friday I will highlight one thing that I really like. I want to add the disclaimer that just because I love it, doesn't mean you will. But if you are feeling adventureous and want to try something new, here are a few things I like.

The Pedi Egg

I have a low thyroid and thus my heels get pretty calloused. I have seen these at my local Walgreens and Rite Aid. Finally I broke down and bought one to try it. Basically it is like a mini cheese grater that takes the calloused part of your heel off to leave the nice smooth skin underneath. You use it on dry skin and just rub it lightly back and forth. I was a little tenative at first using it in fear that I might remove to much skin. But I had no problems. It only takes off a little at a time AND it collects all the nasty shavings in the attached holder. I will confess that before I bought this little gadget I was using straight sandpaper on my feet to smooth them out (100 grit). Now I am converted to using this. I still have some small cracks, but know that over time and with consistent use they will go away.

These are some reviews from Amazon.com to back up my claim on how wonderful this is...

I just received my much anticipated PedEgg today and quickly gave it a try. My feet were not-so-nice even with a little extra TLC. One round with the PedEgg and I would say they are 95% better. I am thrilled to be able to wear my summer sandals just in time for summer!

This is a fantasic product. I have tried amny other products to help with my feet. This has been the only one to truly work. I did not try it with the ballon =) , but it works great to remove calisus on your feet. One more suggestion. Like I have said I have tried a lot of other products, foot files, or scrapers. Go slow and do a little bit at a time and you will be very happy with this product.

I used it once and couldn't believe it! I threw away a grocery bag full of gadgets, files, stones, cremes, lotions. I've spent thousands on pedicures. My heels still looked like the back of a crocodile. They were tearing little holes in the bed sheets. Fifteen minutes with the Ped Egg and I have new feet! Yay! Sandals!

This product does exactly what it says it does. I have tried everything to smooth my heels and this actually did the first time I used it. I highly recommend it. I bought mine for $9.99 at Target...Just FYI.

What? I didn't get invited to lunch. Grrr...

Thanks for sharing this product. I should really look into it. My feet are pretty rough since I wear flip flops or no shoes all summer long.
