I know I missed last week and am slow with this week. Let me just say that I have been a wee bit out of it. Not in a bad way, just sluggish. I think while Mark was gone I hit a kind of relaxed mode and haven't quit gotten back into busy motherly mode. But here it is, this weeks Favorite Thing.
Chi Flat Iron
I just want to start by saying I had really nice hair before I started giving birth to the fruit of my loins. But with each child I brought into the world, my hair got a little more "fluffy". I have tried less expensive (also known as cheap) flat irons, and while they work okay, over the long haul they just don't hold up like the Chi does. Even in humid weather my hair stays smooth and soft. Plus the Chi works much faster. In fact, the one thing you need to be careful of is keeping it moving so you don't singe your hair. Once you get straightening down, you can learn to do curls with it also. Just youtube how to curl hair with a straight iron.
I realize that the chi is an investment. They were $89 at Costco last year and about the same price on Amazon. But if you want a quality product, I highly recommend this. I have heard there are now some other ceramic straight irons that are out. Most that are salon quality with the ceramic plates are what you want to look for. A few names that come to mind are Sedu,Solia, Farouk and of course the Chi. Some companies have also gotten creative and are now producing their flat irons in colors. There was one released in pink for breast cancer awareness. Another in red and so on. But of course those are more money and since I am cheap, good old black works for me.
